Patio, middle of heaven
In traditional Mediterranean architecture, as in Morocco, houses are turned inwards, around a patio. A patio is a roofless inner courtyard, from which origin goes back up in the atrium of the villas of ancient Rome. It is the patio which lights the residence. In the centre of the patio of the Riad Zamane Fes a fountain of water is lying, which gives an ambience of relaxation.
In mosques, this basin has a fancy function, ablution take place in general in reserved rooms. The Riad Zamane Fes was constructed around a central patio in a refined and relaxant decor.
